Patricia Zhou: In Her Own Rhythm

For her, music is the spark—it shapes her choreography, informs her movement, and fuels her emotion. That same sense of rhythm and inspiration flows into the design of the newest addition to the Strathberry bag family, the Kite. Read on to discover how music moves her—physically, emotionally, and artistically.

What’s your all-time favourite music genre?

Definitely classical music! I could (and do) listen to it all day.

Can you name a few artists or bands that are always in your playlist?

Chopin, Philip Glass, Dua Lipa, René Aubry—and always ABBA.

Is there a song that always gets you in a good mood, no matter what?

    Tequila! Haha.
Either that or “Security” by Amyl and The Sniffers, an Australian band. Mainly because it reminds me of watching their Glastonbury set—I became completely obsessed with their lead singer. Her stage presence is just incredible. People were moshing… it was chaos. And it makes me smile every time.

Why is music important in your daily life?

A lot of the time, dancing is incredibly physical and demanding. Good music gives me the energy to push through—even on the toughest days. It keeps me going.

If you could tell us one song to add to our playlist right now, what would it be?

Wild Horses—the acoustic version by The Rolling Stones. I just love it so much.

Music holds memories—do you have one song that takes you back to a special moment?

The Dying Swan reminds me of my grandfather and the short film I created for him when he passed away. It still holds such a special place in my heart.
